Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi (Amma), more popularly known as the Hugging Saint and a renowned humanitarian has been visiting Malaysia since 2002. Known across the globe for her fathomless compassion, selflessness and spiritual wisdom, Amma has dedicated her entire life for the benefit of other people. Every day she sits for hours on end, receiving person after person in the loving embrace of a mother, sharing tears of the sorrowful and spreading joy. Through this blessing, countless hearts have been opened to a world of peace, love and service. Inspired by Amma, citizens of Malaysia have been coming together to provide food and showers for the homeless, to plant saplings as part of afforestation drives, and to practice meditation and other spiritual practices. The young, the old; the rich, the poor; people of all faiths, nations and walks of life are taking inspiration and solace from the peace and love awoken in the human heart by Amma.

Here in Malaysia, there are many opportunities to get involved in activities and spiritual practices inspired by Amma. There are regular bhajans (devotional singing) sessions, which also involve spiritual teachings and meditation. Please explore our website to know more.

All these years we have been celebrating our beloved AMMA's Birthday in halls, centers and at our homes. This year we will move away from the confines of  walls and will parade AMMA in a chariot procession at Brickfields on the 1st October @ 7.30pm commencing from Sri Sakti Karpaga Vinayagar Temple, Brickfields, KL. There will also be an exhibition of Amma's Humanitarian Work.

You are invited to be part of this celebration. For more details contact 0166129095.

(Conducted at the center on every 1st Saturday of every month)

Amma Centre, KL invites Amma’s children to sponsor a Satsang (similar to the ubayam at a temple). This could be a special occasion like a birthday, anniversary or just to share the joy of the Satsang with your family and friends. The sponsor will carry out the Paduka Abhishekam, offer flowers during the chanting of 108 Names of Amma, Sri Lalita Trisathi, and perform Arati at the end of Satsang. In addition to the usual program for Satsang, Satsang attendees will be requested to spend a moment praying for the sponsor/sponsor's family. For booking of dates and other enquiries, please call 011 3350 2088.

(Conducted at the center on every 2nd Saturday of every month)

The Lalita Sahasranama is a sacred text comprising the 1000 names of Sri Lalitadevi in the form of the Divine Mother. It is known to be a powerful remedy for all sorts of problems in our lives, besides providing bliss to the devotee.  Amma says "Children, if we can do archana of the thousand names of the Divine Mother daily with devotion, we will grow spiritually. Group chanting and prayer is very powerful. It can bring important changes.” We will be chanting Lalita Sahasranama towards world peace. In addition, we will dedicate the chanting to anyone who is ill or undergoing major suffering. If the person is unable to come to the KLH Amma Center, a photograph of the person can serve as a focus for our chanting. For further information, please call 011 3350 2088.

(Conducted at a devotee’s home on the 3rd or 4th Saturday of the month)

Similar to Amrita Puja Satsangam (Mahasatsang), you could host a puja for a special occasion like a birthday, anniversary or just to share the joy of the Satsang with your family and friends at your home. The host is expected to prepare garlands (for Amma and Paduka), loose flowers (for archana), prasad (fruits/sweet), paduka abhishekam items and a simple vegetarian meal for devotees. For booking of dates and other enquiries, please call 011 3350 2088.
